I commute to work using an express bus service and it is
MetroCard equpped. Can I use the Premium TransitChek MetroCard for
express bus service?
No, you cannot use the Premium TransitChek MetroCard for Express
Bus service, it can only be used on local buses that accept MetroCards
and the subway. For your convenience, we offer the Vouchers which can be used to purchase MTA Pay-Per-Ride MetroCards
for express bus service.
How do I get a Premium TransitChek MetroCard?
When you enroll in the Premium TransitChek Program, you will be
asked a series of questions pertaining to your commute patterns.
If you indicate that you use the MTA New York City Transit subway,
for example, you will be offered the choice of receiving an annual
Premium TransitChek MetroCard. The Premium Card costs $76 a month
and will be deducted from your salary before taxes each month. You
will receive it by mail approximately one week before your first
benefit month begins.
What do I do if I did not receive the Premium TransitChek
MetroCard in the mail?
If you have chosen to receive a Premium TransitChek MetroCard, you
should receive it in approximately one week before your first benefit
month begins. To determine when your benefit starts you can either
check using your Online Management Account, if you have one set
up, or if you don’t have web access, you can call TransitCenter's
Customer Service department during normal business hours. If you
haven’t received the Card and it is less than a week before
your benefit is scheduled to begin, you should call TransitCenter's
Customer Service department and request a replacement Card. A new
Card will be sent to you, or you may pick up a replacement Premium
Card at TransitCenter’s office before 3:00 P.M. Monday through
Friday, excluding holidays. There are no exceptions to the 3:00
p.m. cut off time.
What happens if my Premium TransitChek MetroCard is lost
or stolen?
If your Premium TransitChek MetroCard is lost or stolen please report
it to TransitCenter Customer Service at 1-877-440-4407 as soon as
possible. A new Card will be sent to you, or you may pick up a replacement
Premium Card at TransitCenter’s office before 3:00 P.M. Monday
through Friday, excluding holidays. There are no exceptions to the
3:00 p.m. cut off time.
Can I use the Premium TransitChek MetroCard after work and
on weekends?
Yes. The Premium TransitChek MetroCard gives you unlimited access
to local bus service and the subway 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
for a full year.
My Premium TransitChek MetroCard stopped working. Can I
get a replacement?
Yes. If your Premium TransitChek MetroCard stops working first check
to make sure you are still an active participant in the Premium
TransitChek Program by logging on to your Online Management Account
or by calling TransitCenter's Customer Service department at 1-877-440-4407
during normal business hours. If you are an active participant,
you can request a replacement Premium Card. You must return your
inoperative Premium Card to receive a new one. A new Card will be
sent to you, or you may pick up a replacement Premium Card at TransitCenter’s
office before 3:00 P.M. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
There are no exceptions to the 3:00 p.m. cut off time.
